First year using Lignetics, they don't light very well as compared to other brands I have used in the past ( green team ). Once they are lit they burn fine. The jury is still out as to weather I will purchase them again .

Are used pellets from stalls and chicken coops safe to use in my compost pile? Is the ash safe to use in my vegetable garden? Thanks

Anyone know the difference between the Lignetics pellets that are bagged under different names such as Lignetics Pellets vs Pres-to-logs pellets. Both are available to me locally and seem to burn the same, which is very good and better than anything else I have found available. The pres-to-logs seem to be a bit darker but some of the lignetics have been darker as well this year, but burn the same. I am interested in knowing the difference if there is one, because they are priced differently locally, and I am just wondering if that is because the retailers are different or if it is the pellets that are different. I burn about 8 to 9 tons a year in an outdoor pellet boiler.

Don, Read your comments about wood pellets and the Lignetics brand. So many mixed reviews about them. Anyway, living in the Northwest you should check out this brand....."Bear Mountain". I lived in Montana and all I used and all the pellet stove dealer would carry were the Bear Mountains, a "VERY GOOD" quality pellet. They're made from Douglas Fir and they burn hot and have little ash. I wrote the company to see if "maybe" they shipped back this way, Pa., but they don't, to expensive. Bear Mtns are made out there either in Oregon or Washington. I'm positive you can find them, try them, they're that good!!!

Used to burn a lot of corn until prices shot through the roof!!!! Just went through a ton of tri-state biofuels pellet...No big clinkers but seems to have lots of ash. burnt them on high the whole time and I am sure I did not get the heat out of them that I did the corn:( Now I am trying a ton of lignetics...the first bag is going through now and it seems that the flame is looking really good...maybe a good sign. From most of the posts it sounds like lignetics might do the trick...I guess I will see. I just wish corn prices would come down:(

Ron,
My driver told me Lignetics is still storing their pellets outside, trying to tarp the bags from rain and snow to keep them dry. I called them and talked to a manager but all he kept mentioning was that the bags were "corn-holed", never did figure what he was talking about. I guess if there are holes poked in the bags, storing outside is probably a huge mistake. Although we currently carry the lignetics brand, I am encouraging my customers to buy Hamers since they are made from 100% hardwood unlike the lignetics brand. Lignetics has way too many problems and I am tired of getting partial bags returned from customers. This will be our last year of selling Lignetics.

Fourth year in a row of burning Lignetics pellets at the rate of 2 to 3 tons per year. Very happy with these pellets until this year. Almost burned a ton already and not happy with this batch. These are leaving a LOT more ash behind and it seems like a much finer ash. I am cleaning the stove every other day now (as opposed to every 3rd or 4th day previous years). The ash is blowing thru the system much further also. It has already plugged the flow tube twice. The latest bags also seem to be a much thinner plastic and we noticed that literally every other bag seemed to have really small holes in them (almost like a bunch of pin pricks). We always unload the bags off the pallets as soon as we get them home and store them in an enclosed front porch area. Also, we have bought these from the same dealer every time who stores them in enclosed buildings when he takes delivery. I am sure that the quality is not quite as good as it has been in the past. Next year I plan to try a different brand of pellet.
