Anyone know if there is any specials on pellets around my area in Middlesex County NJ. I see there are prices as low as $160 per ton but it's in CO. Where are the deals in NJ? Is there any group buys going on?

I know you get what you pay for but my pellet stove only works a few hours during the day as I rely mostly on my wood stove which runs 24/7, that being said I still don't want to burn landfill garbage in my pellet stove. That reminds me I have to get a hold of the local tree service to get me some logs to split. Hope I get the logs soon at least.

Thanks Philip

To everyone that is new to the pellet burning business i recommend that you try 5 bag's of multiple brands of pellets before you buy ton's.Maybe evryone should try buying pellets from the people in the pellet heating business rather then from people the clothing business .BIG business dose'nt care if your house is warm they care about getting your money.Okanagen,Maine Choice, and Cubex are some of the best i've found. Not the cheapest but if your time cleanning your stove every day is worthless and it takes away from your family time then buy BIG box pellets.

P.S The quality of stoves matters to

Burned 3 tons of New England Pellets last year. Went 2-3 days without cleaning stove. I am going to try Hamer's hot ones this year. They were $225.00 a ton. The ash content was also less and feedback on them is good.Walmart I would never buy from, they sell crap. We also found that ACP pellets were horrible, lots of ash, cleaned constantly. I love my pellet stove.

Eureka Pellet Mill Company has lost their contract with Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes due to poor quality pellets. A good quality pellet would be less than six percent moisture and ninety eight percent Douglas Fir content. The higher the hardwood content the higher the BTU and less ash content.
The pellets produced currently at Eureka Mills contain eighty percent white wood and less than twenty percent Douglas Fir, which means a lower BTU rating and higher ash content.

I purchased Lignetic Pellets for quite a few years now. I can honestly say they have been a very good product until this last year. I purchased 2 tons and as I was going through my bags this year and had a breakdown on my feeder cup motor due to pieces of wood chips in my bags of pellets. It cost me a hefty sum to replace my motor in the pellet stove!! Now I just had it fixed and guess whatI openned another bag and it has WOOD CHIPS as well and now I am a little leary about dumping in the bags till I go through them and make sure there are no more chunks of wood. I emailed the lignetics website and let them know they have some problems. Hope they are taking care of this problem. So If you are using Lignetics coming out of Sandpoint, ID and purchased them last year...you might want to check your bags just in case....it might save you some money and aggravation on fixing your stove!!!!!
