Dry Creek Pellets
Dry Creek Pellets is a family owned company out of New York that has been in business since 1992. Their wood pellets are a by product of sawmills in the lumber industry.
I have used Dry Creek Pellets in the past and I remember liking them a lot. As a matter of fact I bought three tons for this season. They seem to be carried by a lot of distributors and they are one of the more popular brands in my area. According to the Dry Creek Website their pellets are a hardwood blend.

I’m lucky enough to have a local supplier that deals with a lot of brands of pellets. They usually tell me what brands are working out well for other customers. It seems like I always hear good things about Lignetics and Dry Creek.
I had a friend recommend Wood Pellet Co. so I may give them a try this season.
I live in Amesbury, Massachusetts and prefer to use Dry Creek in our pellet stove. Can you forward information regarding a retailer close to our home.

Not sure if you found a supplier for Dry Creek. We get our pellets from Warm Traditions in Danvers MA and they do have the Dry Creek.
We usually buy our pellets at Canfields Agway in Stroudsburg, PA. My husband went to go get the 2 tons we normally get and they dont have them this year. Where else can we go to get them in this area?
I went to buy Dry Creek at my local retailer and was told the company went out of business . I would love to find if this is true , and if not , where can I get them near Albany , NY. Does anybody know?

Andy, I have , for the last six years, bought my dry creek pellets from altamont agway. They are very nice to deal with. This year there was a price hike. they were 259.00 a ton. Good luck, Dave
Dry Creek pellets are the best that I’ve tried.I have tried many different brands and none can compare to Dry Creek I have used them 13 years. And this year not able to get them for some reason. I’m vert disappointed. They will be missed this winter.

as all of you say they burn the best ! We have tried them all
and none of the other pellits burn as good as Deep Creek ,

Since there is a decline in new houses being built, there is no left over lumber for pellets. It has been on the news lately.

This year we bought New England Pellets since we could not find a distributor in the Enfield Ct area. We are not happy with the quality, there is a lot of sawsdust and we think thats the reason that there is a lot of carbon buildup in the burner pot. We would like to find a Dry Creek distributor for next year.

try instant heat at barone gardens in cicero, I have used them for two years and they burn well, I talked with Marybeth at Barones, she did research and found instant heat to come close to dry creek. Barone Gardens corner of south bay and thompson rd
I recieved 4 tons of Dry creek and had nothing but troubles in my Harmen Advanced. The pellet was full of sawdust and kept clogging the stove. Talked to the rep who sold it and the basically said to bad, NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY DRY CREEK. I will buy New England pellet ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sell both pellets and stoves…..there is a world of difference in pellets…..you just get what you pay for…..if you shop for price alone expect to get poor quality…..and will wish you had shopped quality instead…….i sell Lignetics (1% ash) and Hamer super premium (1/2% ash). Both are good quality products…….
In 2008-2009 there was a shortage of pellets on the east coast…….we had pellets shipped in from other manufactures out of state and they were poor and lots of headaches, ash, and clinkers!!….both manufactures claimed they were hard wood, low ash, and burned hot, but they did not deliver!!……but our clients were happy to have heat as many rely 100% on pellets for heat…….but disappointed with their performance……some drove over 1 1/2 hours to get pellets for heat….
This season (2009-2010) they all are glad we can once again obtain our usual premium brands……….NOTE…if there is no PELLET INSTITUTE membership, seal and information box on the bag, you are buying a pig-in-a-poke…….you have no idea what is in the bag!!……..

I burned 12 tons last year in my whole-house boiler. At the end of the year I had one trash can full of ash. I only needed to pick out ash chinkers once every day or two. I added ~200 pounds/day to the feed bin, and there was virtually no dust. Unfortunately they went up in price so I bought Lignetics, which has been nothing but trouble. Never again, I’m going back to Dry creek if I can afford them.
My sister and I have used Dry Creek from 2006 w/o problems till I bought 3 tons of DC in fall 2009. Having horrible ash problems now. Have to completely clean the stove every 7 – 14 days about 20- 25 bags. The pellets have a lot of loose sawdust / fines. So quality was not good with this lot.
